Training in preparation for EC, Alicante

Hi All,

After the DLRG Cup and Shannon went home, I didn't go to France. My plan was to train hard this week, but that plan got cancelled because I was a bit sick. So I decided to rest it out, before returning to training. Right now I am in my hardest training period, about 2 to 3 session a day and pushing it on speed and endurance. But By next week I will start to rest down into the EC, with one week of easy, then 5 days of hard training again and then into the pre-race taper!

But I didn't only train, I had put myself up for an Art movie. I had to swim in the Dutch Sea (Scheveningen) with empty Oil Barrels. It was interesting to do and experience, but it isn't really my cup of tea. We spend 2 long days on the beach, my hair had to be cut and we had to sit and wait a lot... In a short time I will upload some pictures taken by VARSBAYD Photography. And as soon as I allowed I will put up the movie as well.

This times trainingsession:

Ski,
A long warm up, about 15 to 20 minutes with some speed work included.

Then do 2x 50-40-30-20 double strokes hard out from a start.
The rest is the paddle back to the startline and between the 2 sets you take a little break.

This will be followed by 5 starts with 10 double strokes.

Paddle down for 10 to 15 minutes.
